With the rapid development of information technology and the Internet, it is more and more difficult for a person to perceive information correctly. Its overabundance affects the quality of perception and the identification of relationships between phenomena. And it is not surprising - a huge number of information portals on the network, a lot of TV programs, flickering obtrusive advertising - all this creates chaos in the head, it becomes difficult to focus on one thing, information oversaturation is formed. In recent years, this perception has become very common, especially among the younger generation. It is called clip thinking.

Clip thinking can be figuratively compared to a music video based on flashing, unrelated frames. The surrounding world is perceived in the same way - an endless kaleidoscope of events and facts. The time for which a person is able to focus on the object gradually decreases, the ability to analyze what is happening worsens.

Dangerous such thinking is primarily for those who are engaged in educational activities. Studying classical literature becomes an almost insurmountable task for schoolchildren. Mastering a complex student program is impossible without perseverance and deep analysis of subjects, which is incredibly difficult for modern students. As a "solution to the problem" with learning difficulties, various options for short retellings of works, ready-made homework assignments and the like appear. Presentations have become a popular teaching method, which carry a minimum of information, only for the appearance of a general idea of the subject. According to recent studies, the overall rate of knowledge assimilation has dropped dramatically.

Clip thinking also leaves its imprint on the minds of modern adults. A very short, concise presentation of advertising information is an effective sales tool. Emphasis is placed on emotions. A person loses common sense and the ability to analyze the situation as a whole and often makes unnecessary purchases, realizing this only later. An unpleasant feeling of manipulation appears, but it is difficult to give a clear explanation for this, since the consciousness is no longer capable of analyzing.

The most affordable and effective way to combat clip thinking is daily reading. Moreover, reading classical fiction. You can set yourself an alarm - first, take a break from the book every 10 minutes, then 15, 20, and so on. During a break, retell the passage you just read. You can discuss and analyze the actions of the heroes of the book, build a logical chain.
