Types, types of anxiety disorders

Generalized Anxiety Disorder. A distinctive feature of this condition is that signs of a disorder usually appear for no apparent reason. An attack of anxiety and panic can "cover" a person in absolutely any circumstances. Aggravation of sensations does not depend on the place, environment, general well-being of a person. If you ask a patient what exactly provokes panic and pathological anxiety in him, then in the case of a diagnosis of generalized anxiety disorder, the person will not be able to give even an approximate answer. It often happens that this form of disorder accompanies any other painful conditions, including somatic ones.

Post-traumatic anxiety (stress) disorder. This violation can occur both immediately following a certain traumatic event, and 3-5 weeks after the incident. The first type of post-traumatic anxiety disorder is accompanied by gradually increasing anxiety, which is stimulated by persistent emotional memories of a negative incident. As a rule, the first type develops just after the injury. The second variant of this anxiety disorder occurs over time, when at least 3 weeks have passed since the moment of severe stress. During this period of time, the victim continues to constantly concentrate on psychotrauma, which leads to a disruption in the emotional sphere, nightmares, a constant feeling of strong, uncontrolled anxiety. The third type of PTSD is considered the most severe. It develops gradually, the symptoms grow and progress. As a result, the patient is faced with a total feeling of despair, becomes overly fearful, anxiety does not leave him for a minute, against the background of this there is a complete loss of interests and the meaning of life.

Anxiety-depressive disorder or mixed type. In this case, the condition is a tangle of clinical depression and immediate anxiety disorder. Painful anxiety is pronounced against the background of symptoms of depression. At the same time, it cannot be said that the signs of this or that violation dominate, they manifest themselves, roughly speaking, with the same force. For this reason, it is impossible to make a definite diagnosis.

Panic Anxiety Disorder. This form of disorder is characterized, first of all, by regular panic attacks. Their attacks usually last up to 20 minutes and are accompanied by typical symptoms, among which there are physiological manifestations, for example, increased sweating, tremors, palpitations. Pathological anxiety in this case is based on uncontrolled - usually irrational - fear. A variety of phobias are easily added to panic anxiety disorder, so a phobic disorder can develop on its basis, which leads to an even sharper deterioration in the quality of life.

Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Often, this disorder is viewed as an independent pathology, but very often OCD is classified in the category of anxiety disorders. First of all, because the state is based on fear, panic, anxiety, anxiety, which can be "stopped" by the patient with the help of some "ritual" actions. So, for example, in order to reduce anxiety, a person can check ten times whether he has locked the front door, fearing that the apartment would not be robbed. OCD manifests itself at the level of thoughts that become obsessive and exhausting, sensations and emotions that have a negative connotation, actions, actions, desires and unwillingness of the patient.
