People usually try to hide their subconscious, deep feelings and thoughts. Psychoanalytic theory reveals some hidden motives of a person by his unconscious manifestations: gestures, facial expressions, gait, reservations, etc. What a person does in a vigorous state, he can still somehow control, but the behavior in a dream does not lend itself to conscious control. Therefore, for analysis, you can use the posture in which the person is sleeping.

Basic poses in a dream

Scientists identify 4 main and most common sleeping positions. All others are derived from them and mean roughly the same feelings and attitudes.

Some people sleep in a ball, pulling their knees bent almost to the chin. This pose is very similar to the position in which the baby is in the womb, which is why it is called the fetal position or fetal position. We can say the following about people sleeping in this position: they are dependent, looking for support in someone else, unable to fully open up and surrender to new sensations and impressions. Subconsciously, such people strive to return to their origins - the womb, when there was no need to answer for anything and decide nothing.

The slightly modified posture is called the semi-embryo pose, when the person sleeps on their side and slightly bends their knees. This position is considered the most common and, most importantly, comfortable for sleeping. In this way, no internal organ is pinched, muscles relax, and normal breathing is also ensured. This sleeping position characterizes balanced, calm, mature and sane people. It is easy to interact with them, they can understand another person, and they can act in equal positions: both in the role of a defender and in the role of a guardian.

Some people sleep on their stomach in the so-called prostrate position. Usually the arms are outstretched above the head, and the legs are outstretched, but different options are possible. A person seeks to occupy all the free space of the bed. Such people want to completely regulate their lives, not allow any breakdowns or surprises, and avoid possible troubles. Usually this person is stubborn in achieving goals, obligatory, accurate and orderly person.

The person sleeping on the back is usually called the royal pose. Those people who are confident in themselves, their safety and tomorrow sleep like that. They are open to everything new, give themselves to the world and gladly accept what the world gives them. True, if a person assumes the position of a starfish, i.e. spreads his arms and legs wide, most likely, this already means self-aggrandizement and belittling others.

What do individual body parts talk about?

It is also important to observe the position of individual body parts. So, legs most often mean the movement of a person through life, and hands - a means of achieving some goals.

Hands clenched into fists naturally express aggression. When hands are holding on to a pillow, blanket, or other object, it signifies a dependent person. If the hands are relaxed, it is most likely that the person is not bothered by anything, that he is not tense. The opposite is true for tense hands. By the way, you also need to pay attention to a certain duality, which can be expressed in different positions of the two hands.

The legs are also very helpful in terms of interpretation. So, the "capture" of the bed with your feet (when the leg seems to hold on to the edge of the bed or even crawls under the mattress) gives out a conservative personality that is not prone to change. If the leg hangs out of bed, it means some kind of internal resistance, disobedience to generally accepted rules. Crossed ankles and tense legs betray a lack of initiative, fearful and weak-willed personality. And the legs, located clearly above each other (when sleeping on the side), mean a constant striving for comfort, avoiding disputes and conflicts. If the legs are located in a dream in different ways, this indicates a certain duality of nature.

Sleep conditions

It is worth noting that it is possible to observe and analyze in what position a person sleeps only under ideal conditions. It should be a comfortable sleeping place, comfortable sleeping conditions in terms of temperature and coziness, a normal healthy state of the body. Otherwise, you can analyze not a typical and favorite sleeping position, but a forced one. So, if a person has a stomach ache, he will probably sleep in an embryo position, in a hot room he will try to spread his arms and legs, and in a too cold room he will shrink into a ball. Falling asleep at a party, some cannot completely relax, and therefore toss and turn for a long time and try to control their behavior even at night. Therefore, they usually do not get enough sleep.
