Trainings are becoming more and more popular. In some companies, one of the mandatory activities is regular training for professional growth. Some people cannot imagine their development without attending personal growth classes. To objectively assess the real benefits of trainings, you need to figure out whether they allow you to look at life differently.

Training can be called an active form of education, during which the audience and the trainer exchange experiences, and also become participants in role-playing games. The purpose of the exercises and practice sessions is either to practice a new skill or to understand the difficulties that can arise in different situations. To discuss the objective benefits of trainings, it is necessary to divide them into professional growth trainings and personal trainings.

Professional development trainings

People usually go to these trainings to improve their professional level. Of course, a participant in professional training, thanks to the knowledge gained in parallel, can develop as a person. But the primary task of such training is to improve the skills of the employee, and not to solve his personal problems.

The most common are trainings for businessmen. Sales training is conducted for both beginners and seasoned salespeople. Through these activities, people learn sales techniques, how to communicate with customers and how to deal with objections. The higher the professional level of the participants, the more difficult and narrower the area studied at the training can be.

There are other trainings - on products, on services, on maintenance, on conflict management, on working with personnel, on handling complaints, and so on.

Of course, professional growth trainings provide knowledge and skills that a person can later work out in practice. The benefits of such training can be assessed in terms of the quality of the material, the skill level of the trainer and the personal motivation of the participant. If one of the components of the training is lame, its effectiveness is sharply reduced.

Professional development trainings allow you to look at life in a different way. After all, they have practical sessions, thanks to which the participants make small discoveries for themselves in their field. However, in the absence of practice, the benefits of training quickly lose relevance. In addition to increasing professionalism, as a result of active training, participants can receive a positive charge, a drive that also needs to be replenished. Therefore, trainings should be attended at regular intervals.

Personal growth trainings

Personal growth trainings can be roughly divided into those that are dedicated to the development of a certain skill, and those that aim to significantly change the consciousness of the participants. The former are fairly harmless and can be as effective as professional training.

For example, there are trainings on stress resistance and time management, in which participants learn to cope more effectively with their tasks - at work or at home. Such training can sometimes be carried out by employers.

There are also trainings with provocative titles, such as "How to Be Happy", "How to Get Married" and so on. Coaches claim that after training with them, anyone will be able to achieve their goals. The condition is complete submission to the teacher and a change in your thinking.

Before embarking on such training, you need to think about whether you want to break yourself and whether the coach is competent enough in this matter.

Occasionally, personal growth trainings offer tasks during which the participants feel extremely uncomfortable. They are forced to do what they would never have done in ordinary life, step over themselves to such an extent that they can burst into tears in front of everyone. Of course, role-playing, which is one of the attributes of active learning, implies some way out of the comfort zone. But this should be the measure.

If in personal growth training you only strengthened your positive qualities, slightly corrected your behavior and eventually felt better and more confident, you have received real benefits from the training. But if these conditions are not met, perhaps the training was useless for you or even caused harm. Whether you look at the world with different eyes after class, or not, depends on how much your goals and individual characteristics were taken into account in the learning process.
