Non-verbal communication between people often occurs through gaze. It is the look that is able to supplement information about a person and indicate his true intentions. But, before drawing conclusions, it is important to remember that in different cultures the view has its own individual characteristics.
When examining the gaze, remember that, for example, representatives of Japanese culture may close their eyes and tilt their head when speaking. This suggests that they are completely focused on the words of the interlocutor. In Muslim countries, women are forbidden to look closely at men, so most often they will not look up when talking. Otherwise, our culture is close to European. A direct, open gaze indicates that the person is interested in communicating with you and shows respect for the conversation.
When interacting with a person who is not very familiar to you, at some point he may look at you with a direct, hard gaze, intently, point-blank, indicating that you have gone too far, violating his personal space, and he does not intend continue the conversation with you.
If a person feels guilty or wants you to forgive him for something, his gaze will be filled with remorse, entreaty and humility. He will never look at you directly, but will listen to your words, watching from under his brows. After a while, you will have the feeling that there is a child in front of you who must be forgiven for everything he has done.
When you feel an interested look on yourself, or, as it is called, intimate, it means that the person wants to attract you primarily as a sexual partner. Women very quickly recognize such a frank look, but they themselves prefer to "shoot with their eyes" in order to grab the attention of a man.
If you tell the interlocutor for a long time an entertaining, as it seems to you, story, and he does not have time or is bored, then his gaze can become wandering, saying that he is already thinking about something completely different. A wandering gaze appears in a person in other situations, for example, when he finds himself in an unfamiliar, unusual place and he needs to study the surrounding space.
When your interlocutor is tired or annoyed, he may begin to roll his eyes upward, showing by this that he no longer has the strength to listen to you and he wants to get rid of you as soon as possible. Pay attention to the facial expressions of the person with whom you are in contact, because looking up is not always a desire to end the conversation. It is possible that at this moment the interlocutor was simply distracted, because he looked at him for a moment.
Squinting eyes can tell you that the person was very attentive to what you just said or are saying. But if at the same time he turned his eyes to the side, then, most likely, he does not want to reveal his plans to you.
If your eyes are wide open and you read surprise or fear in them, then the information received has caused a state of shock in the interlocutor.
When a person looks down at you, and his eyelids are slightly closed, it means that he considers you an unworthy interlocutor or he absolutely does not care what you say to him. But do not exclude the fact that the person simply wants to sleep or is very tired, and closed his eyes only for a minute, not wanting to interrupt your story.
