Very often we see how our loved ones make mistakes, not realizing that they are making them. We try to point them out to them, help them figure it out, but we fail in our attempts - our actions do not meet the necessary reaction and are taken for criticism. In order to influence a person and help him become better, it is necessary to follow a number of rules.
Instructions
Step 1
The first stage of exposure is the disposition of the interlocutor. No matter how many years you have known this person, your communication exists in the here and now, it is local. First of all, be interested in what is happening with him, not necessarily in what you want to change. You must be sincere. Talk to him, constantly smiling, encourage him to talk about himself. Talk to him only about what he likes and do your best to help him feel important. The more you succeed at this stage, the easier it will be for you at the persuasion stage.
Step 2
When you start persuading, don't persuade. It sounds paradoxical, but in fact, it is necessary for the person to feel the thoughts you need. In this case, he may begin to doubt them, and then you will support him in the direction that you need. If you bring thoughts into his mind, you may have to deal with objections, with an argument that can get out of hand.
Step 3
Appeal to noble motives. Each person needs only two things to do this or that act: justification and encouragement. Justify his potential actions with objectivity and reward him with your own support. By creating artificial support, you can deal with any doubt a person has and lead him to the thought that will help him become better.
