In Russian, there are only six words that directly indicate the manifestation of gratitude to a person: thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, grateful and obliged. The vocabulary of gratitude is not rich. But there are other ways to thank a person.

If you decide to thank a woman, then flowers with a note, a beautiful cake decorated with roses, candy in a box, chocolate or fruit will suit you. Do not give loose sweets, under no circumstances.
Step 2
If you decide to thank a man, then fine wine, cognac, whiskey, expensive coffee beans or cigars will suit you.
Step 3
If you want to repay modestly, then you can always give a person a thing based on his interests: a good book, a painting, a tea set, a disk or even a record, because people have different interests.
Step 4
If a person has done a very great service for you or gave you a very good gift, then in honor of this, you can publish words of gratitude in the local newspaper.
Step 5
You can always thank a person in writing. Write a thank you note or postcard and send it by mail or courier. Sometimes you can attach a small gift to the postcard, for example, some delicacy on the table. The person will be very pleased for this small but gratitude.
Step 6
You can invite this person to some institution. Sit in a pleasant atmosphere, relax. Such gratitude will be gratifying.
You can also thank a person on any holiday. So you congratulate him and thank him for what he did to you. A person will be doubly pleased.
Step 7
If you do not know how to thank a person, then you can always do some kind of service for him in return. Do not wait until he asks, but offer his help as soon as you see the need for it.
