Step 1
Get to know the main character typologies. There are several of them, their disadvantage is that they are quite massive. But by reading Leongard's theory of traits, for example, you will get an idea of the concepts used. The modern method of "seven radicals" has an abbreviated version, is used by special services specialists and is well suited for express diagnostics of character. You just need to learn 7 types of character (radicals), and look for a pronounced one in a person.
Step 2
Observe the behavior of the person. It will not be difficult to identify such character traits as activity or passivity, openness or closeness, gloom or optimism, as well as discipline, anxiety, and negligence through observation. A person interacts in society and constantly displays one or another of his qualities. In this case, according to Vadim Voichenko, a practicing psychologist and general director of the NTK training company, every hole in the clothes can be analyzed.
Step 3
Also analyze the features of the physique, appearance (clothing style, hairstyle, accessories). An analysis of a person's personal space will give a lot of information: the design of an apartment, a study, a car, etc., physical activity (facial expressions, gestures, gait, posture, speech, etc.). After all, the character is manifested in every little thing.
Step 4
Talk to the person. Ask for stories from his life if he is not very talkative, or an episode from a favorite book. Notice how he talks - whether with enthusiasm, whether with restraint. If possible, look at the handwriting - how much space the person takes on the sheet, whether he observes the margins, whether he draws squiggles. And in general, collect different information about a person - the more there is, the easier and more reliable the conclusions will be.
Step 5
Use other means, albeit not entirely scientific, to diagnose character. For example, analysis of facial features will provide rich material for character study. It is also important here to find out in advance what information the features of the structure of the face and head carry.
