Motivation is the cornerstone of a person's success. But non-material motivation does not always lead to the success of the person himself. It is mainly used by managers to improve the efficiency of employees.
Instructions
Step 1
Intangible motivation has become widespread as an integral part of the management style in the company. Motivation encourages movement. In total, there are two types of motivation for employees: material and non-material. Material motivation is aimed at motivating employees through bonuses, bonuses and salaries. Whereas non-financial motivation does not imply incentives for employees through cash.
Step 2
Non-financial motivation includes: written or oral gratitude from the management, the opportunity to switch to a flexible work schedule, additional days of rest, career growth, a friendly team and corporate events. It should be noted the effectiveness of such intangible motivation as corporate events and Team-building (translated from English as “team building”). Such joint trips, holidays, competitions and participation in joint events create a healthy atmosphere in the team, which has a positive effect on the performance of employees.
Step 3
Non-financial motivation is aimed at reducing employee turnover at the enterprise and strengthening the corporate spirit. Often, the prospect of a promotion or a friendly atmosphere in the team can compensate for the low salary. But even if in a large company there are no problems with material incentives for employees with the help of various bonuses and bonuses, it is possible that an employee will leave a high-paying job due to a loss of interest in the work or lack of career prospects.
Step 4
A kind of intangible motivation, such as praise from a manager, can be a stronger and more pleasant incentive for an employee. Employees usually value their supervisor's praise highly. And if it is issued on a special letterhead as a letter of commendation, with a seal and a frame so that an employee can proudly hang it on the wall, then such non-material motivation can be more successful than material motivation.
Step 5
Non-material motivation is more strategic than material. If an employee can be interested in monetary compensation for a short period of time, then non-material incentives are designed for the long term.
Step 6
A motivated employee is much more effective and more useful for the company, and the issue of motivation is fundamental to management. The choice in the means of motivation is great, and what type of incentives to choose depends on the managers and finances of the company itself.
