Panic is a psychological state, a response to a threat. It is expressed in bouts of a sense of acute fear, excitement and an uncontrollable desire to avoid a dangerous situation by any means. If you let the panic take over you, you can easily lose control of the situation and prevent your own salvation.
Instructions
Step 1
To understand what kind of behavior in difficult moments of life - during a terrorist threat, flood, earthquake, shipwreck, etc. - is considered correct, draw in your imagination a rafting on a stormy mountain river. If you suddenly fell out of the boat, what would you do to be saved? Wave your hands, shout - so you just sip on water and inevitably go to the bottom. If you group, concentrate and go with the flow, the water flow will take you to a quieter area.
Step 2
To maintain your presence of mind in any critical situation, pull yourself together and clearly imagine what action should be taken at the moment. Think back to every emergency guide you have ever read and studied, and try to calm down and reassure others.
Step 3
Anxiety is a natural reaction of the body to defend against what seems scary and dangerous. Don't over-dramatize the situation. In the event of increased anxiety and excitement, you will naturally expect the worst possible scenario, and you will underestimate your capabilities. Of course, you can't cancel feelings or tell your brain to stop worrying. However, the strength of a person's character is manifested not in controlling his feelings, but in doing the right things in a critical situation. To keep your sense of danger from growing, stop imagining the worst-case scenario. You can learn to create internal security, you can cultivate it in yourself. You never know what problems occur in life, a confident person is able to cope with even the most terrible of them.
Step 4
Practice problem solving. Even if at first glance the problem that has arisen seems absolutely hopeless, take a look at it from the outside, try to make a list of options for resolving it. If you can't find a way out, and panic and horror go beyond all possible boundaries, do not hesitate to ask for help from those you trust, or from professionals.
