On the Internet, you can find many ways to determine the socionic type. For example, you can be typed according to the features of the structure of your face or according to your texts that you write in response to the questions of the socionic questionnaire. Alas, these methods don't work.
To correctly and correctly determine the socionic type, it is necessary to adhere to two principles.
The principle of behavioral activity of typing
The only thing in which the socionic type manifests itself reliably and in the form in which a person really has it is behavior. A person can talk and think differently about himself. But what he really is is manifested in his actions; in the solutions that he implements; in the choices he makes; in the non-verbal signals that he gives.
To identify the socionic type in behavior, you need to know which behavioral signs to pay attention to. And you also need to understand what kind of behavior to analyze. These questions are answered by the method of functional tests, developed by the School of Academic Socionics. To determine the socionic type, a person is offered to perform a number of tasks that are aimed at the manifestation of his strong socionic functions.
The principle of self-determination of typed in a type
In order to correctly and correctly determine the socionic type, the typed person must determine it himself.
In this case, the typing procedure is built in such a way that the typed person as fully as possible - from the point of view of socionics - manifests himself in his real behavior (see the previous principle). And the consultation procedure is built so that the typist himself saw what socionic functions are manifested in his behavior.

- And sometimes - no luck … And then the typing procedure is only a process of self-examination, self-determination in type and, ultimately, self-acceptance.
The processes of self-examination and self-acceptance in a type cannot be started if typing is built according to the principle of making a diagnosis. But they are the most important for improving the quality of life. After all, it is for this that a person wants to know his socionic type: to improve the quality of his life. A person will not be able to do this if the decision about his socionic type was not made by him.
