We live in an era of non-professionalism. It is enough to just look around, and you will immediately notice that most people are trying to appear professional, but they are not.

Non-professionalism as a way of life
Non-professionalism as a way of life

What do we see every day? Actors who sometimes don't even try to demonstrate their acting skills. They don't play, they just pretend. Doctors who are unable to make a correct diagnosis. Footballers who walk the field while earning millions. Road workers who repair roads in such a way that the pits appear again after a month. Trainers who look at the phone and not at the client's work.

The list can be long. Naturally, there are professionals too. But there are very few of them and they are extremely rare.

The number of non-professionals is only growing every year. And if earlier it was necessary to try to identify people who are not specialists in their field, today everything is quite the opposite. You have to look for professionals for a long time and persistently.

We have forgotten how to approach our duties professionally.

Unprofessionalism at work

Many in their life at least once, but said the phrase "and so it will do." Of course, there are situations where it is useful. For example, if you are a perfectionist, then you need to periodically slow down yourself in search of a non-existent ideal.

But in most cases, the phrase "and so it will do" means that we simply do not see the point in performing our duties efficiently. I don `t want. After all, we will get paid, even if we make a bunch of mistakes and get the job done somehow. In most cases, we are not responsible for our activities

This is why there are people in offices who often drink coffee, chat with each other and spend half a day on social media. Also, employees can watch movies or play. They are capable of anything but work.

Unprofessionalism in life

But things could get worse. At one point, we start to do everything somehow, not only at work. When cleaning a room, we do not wipe dust off the cabinets, because it is not visible. We stop paying attention to loved ones, close people, because they are always there.

We stop monitoring our health, because everything is fine anyway. Some people even stop brushing their teeth every day and shower regularly. And why, when everything is fine anyway?

Unprofessionalism begins to manifest itself in all our actions and even thoughts. And if you think about it, then most likely every person will remember that moment in his life when he did not want to be a professional.

A true master of his craft

True professionalism is manifested primarily in the exactingness towards oneself. A master of his craft is trying to thoroughly study the issue, to fully understand the task set before him in order to perform it efficiently.

Signs of professionalism

  1. A true master of his craft is never late.
  2. He always keeps his word.
  3. A professional knows how to say "No", because realizes the limits of their capabilities.
  4. The specialist always brings things to their logical conclusion.
  5. A true professional knows how to concentrate on the task at hand.
  6. A master of his craft is always open to learning.
  7. He pays attention to the little things.
  8. The professional focuses on long-term success, not on momentary popularity.
  9. A true virtuoso knows what self-discipline is. He will do the job well, even if there is no inspiration and desire.

As a conclusion

One day a country will appear in the world in which only professionals will live. Roads in cities will be smooth, beautiful and reliable. Not because the workers will be paid for it. They just want it themselves.

Trainers will take care of clients, follow their technique, prompt and correct when the need arises. And the clients will fulfill all the instructors' recommendations with high quality. No breakdowns and self-pity. Professionally.

Hospital examinations will be thorough. Football players will give all their strength during the games. Athletes will begin to win medals not through doping, but through regular training and a powerful drive to win. Politicians will primarily care about the country and the population, not about their own wallet and well-being.

Builders will build beautiful, solid houses. In which you will not hear how the neighbors' phone vibrates. In which the taps will not break in a week. In which you will not have to make repairs after check-in.

In this country, professionals are everywhere. They will smile at themselves, the people around them and the world. They will not throw empty bottles into bushes or cigarette butts out of the window. They will always provide all possible help to each other and will not pass by a person who has become ill. They will clean up the trash after the picnic and will not burn the grass. They are professionals in everything and always.

Someday such a country will arise. But perhaps this will only happen in dreams.
