For the umpteenth time, you are trying to start learning English, doing exercises in the morning, finally heading to the gym, or just stopping staying up late at work. But time passes and nothing changes. And again I want to live differently, starting from the next Monday … How to force yourself to do what you want?
Instructions
Step 1
First of all, determine if you really want to do what you have planned. After all, if you have to "force" yourself, then it is difficult to attribute to your desires. Do you really need English? Desire is something that happens by itself at the behest of your soul. If you really enjoy learning languages, you would definitely find time for this type of activity: studying in transport, listening to recordings while cleaning or preparing food, pasting stickers on the mirror.
Step 2
If it is difficult to start or stop doing something, then most likely there is a big bonus in the formed behavior. For example, you can skip exercising because you can get ten extra minutes of sleep in the morning. And at work, you sit up so as not to cook dinner in the evening. Think about the bonuses your behavior might have.
To be able to switch to a fundamentally new behavior, you need to either deprive yourself of the bonus from the previous lifestyle, or understand what advantages you will have if you take another action. After all, whatever one may say, a person is selfish, and just like that, even for himself, he will not do anything. So, without staying longer at work, you can properly rest and go to bed early.
Step 3
Listen to your body and yourself, find real, true desires. This is the only way you can bring to life what you want. You may not be a polyglot at all, but you are very fond of flowers and cats. And your desire and love for a particular cause will give strength to its implementation.
Perhaps today you did not want to do exercises in the morning because the body was overworked after yesterday's working day. Have pity on him, give him a rest on the condition that tomorrow you go to bed early and can get up to do gymnastic exercises. Live according to the dictates of your soul, and then your life will be joyful.
Step 4
Appreciate your actions. Trying to do something is not the case yet. Every day, take at least a small step towards making your desire a reality. Keep a progress diary. Write down what you have done well over the past day. Analyze actions taken and unfulfilled every week, let it spur you on.
If you have achieved even a small goal, be sure to praise yourself and celebrate the occasion. The recorded success will give you strength and help you take new heights.
