The possibility of demons or demons inhabiting a person is not questioned by the Orthodox Church. Scripture provides many examples of the destructive effects of these entities on human souls.
In ancient times, instead of medicine, the priority was the church. Most people were treated with prayers and did not see a doctor. Of course, this was not the case everywhere, but there are some towns that were special. It is said that the devil can possess and control a person. This information came from "special" settlements. People seemed to go crazy and spoke in previously unknown languages. Whether this is true is a big question. In this case, the Church speaks of exorcism, a phenomenon when a demon or devil takes possession of a person, thereby taking possession of his soul and body. As a result, behavior, physical and psychological condition changes. In reality, this is a very creepy picture that ends in death.
Many psychologists and famous doctors argue that this phenomenon is nothing more than a fiction. That is, science and medicine do not believe and refute it in every possible way. If we consider the process of introduction, then it is quite interesting. First, the victim is mentally harassed and oppressed using various techniques. When a person is weakened, it is at that moment that the instillation takes place, after which everything changes. Actions are performed by a creature invisible to the eye. In this case, these are dark entities that are trying to take possession of the body and soul.
Science and medicine claim that this is a psychological personality disorder and nothing more. Whether this is really so is unknown, because the possessed spoke different languages and could do what they had never done before. Where do such opportunities come from in the case of a common psychological disorder? Nobody will answer this question, even eminent doctors. Therefore, it is stupid to argue that all this is fake and invented. There are books that describe the real events of the previously mentioned phenomenon. In most cases, they were written a long time ago. Apparently there is a certain connection here, since in the modern world there are much fewer cases of obsession than several centuries ago. And the fact is that now medicine and science are very developed, therefore such people are immediately placed in hospitals. Chances are that most of them are cured. Churches are also not lagging behind and accept exactly the same ones, but statistics are not kept there, and there is no particular data. Therefore, today obsession is a hidden and unknown disease that is treated in various ways. Whether to believe in this phenomenon is everyone's business, since there is no specific data or statistics that could shed light on the obsession.
