People, unfortunately, very often face lies in everyday life. But in order to determine whether a person is telling you the truth or not, cunning devices are not needed at all, it is enough to carefully observe his facial expressions, gestures, and manner of conversation.

Instructions

Step 1

It is possible to convince the interlocutor of a lie when his gestures contradict his words. For example, a person persistently convinces you of something, but at the same time involuntarily shakes his head negatively - most likely, at this moment he is telling a lie. The following gestures should also alert you: excessive gesticulation, frequent touching of lips and nose during conversation, shifting from foot to foot, frequent wiggling of fingers. All of this is direct evidence of a lie.

Step 2

You can also recognize a lie by the abundance of various facts that are not directly related to the topic of the conversation. For example, if your interlocutor is not talking to the point, delving into many small and unnecessary details, then most likely he is wasting time in this way, deciding whether to tell you the truth, or simply does not finish something. However, if a person interrupts his story in order to introduce some clarification into it, then this, on the contrary, testifies to his sincerity.

Step 3

Pay attention to those contradictions and inaccuracies that occur in the conversation. If you doubt the veracity of what has been said, do not hesitate to ask the interlocutor as many clarifying questions as possible, or ask to repeat the story, but only in reverse order. As a rule, liars get confused very quickly in details, especially if the story told by them invented on the go.

Step 4

If you feel that the other person is lying to you, tell him about it directly. The person telling the truth will react to such a statement with irritation and will look you in the eye. If a person is lying, then his reaction will be different: he will begin to experience embarrassment and inconvenience, he will turn away and look away.

Step 5

However, it is impossible to draw conclusions about the truthfulness of people only by one of the above signs. That is, the person does not necessarily tell you a lie, rubbing his nose and looking around. The nose may indeed itch at this moment, and a look to the side may indicate his shyness or concentration. Therefore, it is very important to see the whole picture of what is happening as a whole, only the totality of all the signs, or most of them, can indicate that a person may be telling you a lie.
