It is not so easy to answer the question of who you are and what you want from life, it takes time and some work on yourself. However, understanding yourself and knowing your path makes life more interesting and easier.
Past experience
First of all, try to make a list of important events that happened in your life and directly affected you. Write down all your achievements, the difficulties you faced, the actions you took to overcome them. Describe all your positive and negative experiences. At the same time, try not to succumb to emotions, write briefly, indicate what lesson you learned from certain events. This will help you find out how your belief system has changed over time, what psychological blocks you had before and are currently available, how your experience has changed, etc.
Think for yourself
The overwhelming majority of people live according to a pattern imposed by society. Stereotypical thinking and fear of judgment from others prevent them from acting in their own way. Such people feel rejected or failures if they do not meet the accepted criteria of beauty and success. To find yourself, you need to stop acting like everyone else. Think about your own attitude to the events taking place around. Do you feel comfortable? Are you trying to imitate those around you, are you taking their understanding of right and wrong for your own? Are you trying to follow a particular fashion just because others are doing it? If the answers to these questions turn out to be yes, stop. Try to reconsider your attitude towards these things, taking into account your interests and not paying attention to what is generally accepted.
Form your own attitude towards life
After determining what your actions are imposed, try to start over. Try to set for yourself your own criteria for success, your own rules of life, your moral principles and follow only them. Give up all your bad habits, they greatly interfere with thinking and acting on your own. For example, alcohol is a simple and accepted way to deal with difficult problems by ignoring them. At the same time, there simply cannot be one's own and most effective vision of the situation.
Retire and reflect on your desires
Try to distract yourself for a while. Stop watching TV, don't use the Internet, don't listen to anyone's advice. Be alone with yourself and think about what you want from life, where you want to be in a few years. Temporary loneliness helps to release from outside pressure. This is especially useful for creative people who find it difficult to think while constantly being surrounded by people. Think about what you consider worthy of your attention, what you are willing to sacrifice for, what brings you maximum satisfaction. At the same time, it does not matter at all how other people relate to these things. The answers to these questions will help you find yourself.
Take action
Once you've identified your own desires, take action. Do not let your surroundings lead you astray. Also don't look for excuses to stand still. For example, if you really enjoy drawing, don't tell yourself you don't have the time, talent, or anything else. If you feel that you have chosen the wrong profession and are not doing what you want, do not tell yourself that you are used to your place of work, do not be afraid of changes in your life, which can be significant. Take time to solve all the problems you face and do what you see fit.
