Overworking or having multiple sources of income can be detrimental to mental health. Constant negativity and fatigue during the performance of duties and negative thoughts about work outside of it may indicate the presence of a work neurosis.

What is work neurosis

is not a disease, but a condition caused by many different factors. Among the reasons may be:

  1. Long absence of vacation;
  2. Irregular work schedule;
  3. Work that requires you to be ready 24 hours a day;
  4. Lack of love for your work, or even hatred for it;
  5. Shrugging off overwhelming responsibilities, etc.
  6. Heavy awakening. Of course, everyone loves to sleep, and quite a few people reluctantly wake up in the morning to the sound of an alarm clock. But people with a work neurosis do not just wake up hard: their morning is completely saturated with negativity and disgust for the new day and impending work.
  7. Constant irritation in the workplace. Such an employee is unlikely to perform his duties better than everyone else, since any task or call causes outbursts of irritability and aggression. Any comment is taken too sharply, followed by a prolonged reaction.
  8. Thoughts about working outside of it. Workers who are really tired of their work continue to hate it when they come home. This can lead to conflicts in the family, since it is quite difficult to endure a constantly angry person.
  9. Fatigue and weakness. A symptom that is characteristic not only of neurotics, but nevertheless very important. A person with neurosis wakes up tired and, going to sleep exhausted, cannot fall asleep for a very long time. All his psychic energy is spent on experiencing negative thoughts.
  10. Learn to say no to people. Learn to refuse people without feeling remorse. Remember, you don't owe anything to anyone.
  11. Stop taking work home. If work is already hard, why drag her home? It is necessary to make the house a place in which harmony and comfort reigns, where you can relax. There is no need to load it with negativity.
  12. Master time management. Fatigue from work is often associated with a lack of time management skills. Perhaps if you learn to separate important matters from secondary ones, to devote as much time to matters as necessary, then the work will go more productive and more fun.
  13. Take a vacation. If you haven't seen anything but office walls for a long time, it's time to go on vacation! Regular rest for our health is as necessary as daily sleep.
  14. Change jobs. After all, if your current profession doesn't suit you at all, why not try to find other options? It's never too late to change your life for the better!
