Creating a compelling image is not easy. To play believable, certain skills and experience are required. What techniques do actors use to get used to a new role?
Instructions
Step 1
Explore the role prototype. After reading the script, the actor looks for the most suitable object to study the character of his character. He observes the demeanor, characteristic movements, temperament. The actor notes the smallest details: timbre and tone of voice, gaze, facial expressions and gestures. He, according to Stanislavsky, “creeps into his soul” and becomes infected with a new image. Your own personality fades into the background, and only the character of your role should come to the surface. It doesn't matter what role it is: teacher, politician or salesperson.
Immerse yourself in the appropriate atmosphere. Professional actors visit their character's "habitat" and get used to the role there.
Step 2
Create a compelling look. The stage image, costume and accessories are of great importance. Free yourself from psychological clamps, relieve physical stress. The actor must be able to observe himself from the outside and channel his emotions into words and actions.
Step 3
Learn the skills you need. The acting profession presupposes quick learners and a good command of the subject matter. Each image assumes certain knowledge, experience and philosophy of life. If you need to play the role of a pianist, hire a teacher and learn how to play at least one piece of music easily.
Step 4
Convey emotion. To be convincing in the performance of the role, you must reproduce the entire emotional background inherent in your character. Create the authenticity of the experience. If you need to play the role of a melancholic, immerse yourself in the sad memories of the past, enter a state of mental trance. If the situation calls for a charismatic personality, refer to successful experiences when you were confident, energetic, and victorious. To recreate certain emotions, try to remember the smallest details of the situation.
Step 5
Believe in your fiction and live it sincerely. Do not prepare a speech in advance, but feel that you have really become a different person with a different set of thoughts, feelings, experiences. Improvise. The actor must be able to think figuratively and constantly train to transform into different roles.
