Personality needs

First of all, every person's biological needs come to the fore. If they are not satisfied, then other needs are supplanted or lose their importance at a certain point in time. Among biological needs, there are three types of instincts that govern the process of human life.

Among biological needs, the first is the food instinct - the body's need for food, followed by the defensive instinct - the need for a person to create conditions for their safety. When the feeling of hunger is not disturbed and there is no threat to life and health, the person experiences sexual needs - the desire for love, the creation of a family hearth and procreation.

If a person is full, shod, has a roof over his head and feels the love of loved ones, he has a need to satisfy his sense of self-importance. A person wants to achieve a certain level of relationships in communicating with people, to realize their abilities and achieve their goals. All these needs can be classified as social and can be characterized as the individual's desire for self-affirmation.

At that stage of life, when a person experiences satisfaction from his activities, realizes the importance of his work and receives respect from others, his spiritual needs are manifested. There are philosophical reflections on the meaning of life, its purpose and the need to do something significant for the life of society. A person strives for knowledge of the world, himself, as well as for spiritual enrichment and new knowledge. The person is in search of his ideals and deliberately determines the range of personal interests and hobbies.

Human interests

The interests of the individual are interconnected with his needs and are transformed into a motivating state that encourages action. Interest is determined in the desire to learn more information about an object or process, and is also expressed in an increased attraction to a certain type of activity.

A person's interests can be multifaceted. Among personal interests, there are such significant groups as communication and affections, hobbies and interests, family life or professional field of activity.

Interests can also be economic, in which the personal fades into the background, and first of all there is a desire to derive material benefit. The hired worker is interested in the salary, and the businessman is interested in the growth of the profit of the enterprise. In turn, along with the growth of profits, the entrepreneur's authority and personal self-esteem grows, the standard of living improves, and along with it needs increase and new interests arise.
