You can physically not be present at work, but constantly mentally return to professional problems. Worry about future meetings, rehearse speeches, be nervous lest colleagues are intriguing against you. And because of this, at every opportunity, check your mail. At the same time, try to smile at relatives and friends, but mentally be far away.

Or another scenario. You have a week off and it is on this week that you decide to get up at eight in the morning to make healthy breakfasts. Do a general cleaning, disassemble cabinets and knock out carpets. As a result, there is no time left for oneself, fatigue is piling on and depression is not far off.

Rest must be earned

It is not only the inability to switch from work to leisure that makes us think constantly about work, but also the feeling of guilt for “useless activities”. How often, when you tried to settle down with a book on the couch or in the bathroom, your inner voice asked: "Do you deserve it?" A feeling of guilt is piling up, it seems that it is necessary to do something useful. At this point, you should stop and think about why your inner critic does not allow you to relax. The reason may be unfulfilled plans or mismatch of someone's expectations.

It is worth understanding that everyone has the right to rest. And do not scold yourself for laziness, you just gain strength, so you deserve a few days of "doing nothing".

And so that the vacation does not turn into a "cleaning marathon" and "useful activities" should be made a to-do list. It is better if it only includes the most important things. It should also be remembered that on vacation there is a feeling of "unlimited", simple homework stretches for several hours. Whatever this happens, set aside a strictly defined time for household chores, after which, whether you have time to complete the job or not, you go to rest.

Relax by the rules

To stop behaving on vacation like slaves who were released from the galleys, but forgot to untie, you should adhere to some rules.

Take off your wristwatch during the holidays. At first you will miss them, but very quickly you will get used to doing without them. Forget the rush, you are resting.

Limit the time you spend doing household chores. Minimize the use of the Internet, both from your computer and from your phone. Take care of yourself, do what you wanted for a long time, but there was no time. On vacation, you have the opportunity to make your dream come true. And you will always have time to resume Internet communication.

Relax slowly. You do not have to rush to the pool, skating rink, or theater with a little tear in your eyes. You deserve a calm and measured rest.
