Swagger from time immemorial has been recognized as a negative moral quality or character trait. However, not many people, using such a word or definition, understand what it really means, and what is its origin.
Many historians agree that the word "swagger" comes from the ancient Indian expression "svayati" - to strengthen, increase, multiply. According to another hypothesis, this definition is consonant with the Czech phraseological unit “čvaňhat”, which translated into Russian means endless chatter or empty talk. Finally, some linguists argue that swagger is an adjective equated to the sounds that people make when they chatter or talk non-stop. Gradually, the word "arrogant" or "arrogant" appeared in the Russian language. Arrogance is expressed in several characteristics. First, arrogance is comparable to an arrogant attitude towards the past of a people, towards its cultural and historical values, towards the accumulated knowledge and rich experience of individual representatives of a nation or state. In other words, swagger is a manifestation of disrespect for generally accepted moral qualities in a particular society. Another definition of swagger is pride, conceit, vanity. A person shows these qualities when he erects the successes achieved by him in the framework of "universal admiration". He openly demonstrates his knowledge and his destiny. He puffs and grimaces, proud of what he has, what he has achieved. An arrogant person believes that he is special, exceptional, inimitable. However, his opinion is not supported by the people around him, since, in fact, the arrogant citizen exaggerates or embellishes his real merits. Swagger is currently recognized as the quality that must be eradicated in society. It is despised and rejected, which is why people with the manifestations of the above qualities often remain in exile if they do not change their pride and vanity.
