One of the main traits of a person's character is willpower. Only a strong-willed person can realize his aspirations. But the development of will is a serious work, because you have to force yourself to do what you do not want and not do what you really want to do.
Instructions
Step 1
First of all, try to give up habits that annoy you and that have become a conditioned reflex for you. So, for example, you are used to eating while sitting in front of the TV, and then, grumbling, brush crumbs off the couch.
Step 2
Begin to develop your willpower carefully and gradually. Don't overload your psyche. Proceed in the same way as athletes who develop physical strength. They will never start right away with lifting a weight of one hundred kilograms? Therefore, if you are used to sitting in front of the TV for whole evenings, you should not completely deny yourself this pleasure. Think about which evening programs you can refuse, and which you will still watch.
Step 3
Do not set yourself too easy tasks. If you do not like sweets, it will be easy for you to refuse dessert, but what does willpower have to do with it?
Step 4
Develop will daily. The development of will should take place like training athletes (constantly and purposefully), and not like physical education at school: twice a week.
Step 5
Do not test your will in serious life situations. Start with your normal living environment. If you want to force yourself to walk, you don't have to start by walking to a crucial business meeting, but rather walk when you return home from that meeting.
Step 6
And remember, in order not to go with the flow, but to go through life in the direction you need, you will often have to strain your will. But our will is like a muscle, from constant stress it becomes stronger and stronger. Therefore, the stronger your willpower becomes, the less discomfort you will experience because you have to make efforts on yourself.
