Any war is a serious tragedy. After all, any armed conflict, even a short-term and insignificant one, leads to casualties and destruction. What can we say about those cases when the war draws hundreds of thousands or even millions of people into its bloody orbit. In addition to the fact that war takes away human lives and makes many people disabled, it has another sad feature: it changes the human psyche, habits, value system. And these changes can be very negative.

In peacetime, human life is considered the highest value. It is no coincidence that the legislation of most countries does not provide for the death penalty even for the most dangerous criminals. However, in war, the value of a human life drops to almost zero.
Step 2
Every person who finds himself in a combat zone (moreover, not only a soldier or a militia, but even a civilian) has to realize that he can die at any moment, second, or be crippled. This in itself is a difficult test, even for a courageous, reserved person with a strong will. If we add the natural human fear of exploding bombs and shells, the shock at the sight of dead and mutilated bodies, strong physical and nervous strain that can last for a long time, it is not surprising that the psyche of people in war often does not stand up. And even long after the end of the war, its participants may be prone to unmotivated aggression, inadequate reaction to seemingly harmless words and actions. Such people need the help of a specialist, since it is very difficult to cope with their emotions.

Any war hardens a person, and this is a natural phenomenon. But often bitterness takes extreme, repulsive forms. Especially against the background of skillful propaganda, depicting the opposite side of the armed conflict as almost a fiend. Then manifestations of deliberate and unjustified cruelty arise, and not only in battle (which itself is cruel), but after it - for example, cases of reprisals against prisoners.

Once in a war, even a delicate and kind person very soon begins to obey the powerful instinct of self-preservation, which can push him to commit not the most worthy (to put it mildly) acts. At the same time, it is not uncommon for participants in hostilities to display reasonable humanity, both towards the enemy and towards civilians. That is, the war with merciless frankness reveals the true essence of man.
Step 5
Each armed conflict gives rise to such a negative phenomenon as looting, that is, the forcible appropriation of other people's property in a combat zone under the threat of weapons. This is a serious problem that can undermine discipline and turn the army into an armed gang. Therefore, according to the laws of wartime, marauders are severely punished, up to the exponential death penalty.
