Thoughts come to mind all the time, creating a state of thinking about something. And some people begin to understand that internal dialogue prevents them from living. It is impossible to get rid of this phenomenon forever, but there are techniques that allow you to stop thoughts for a while.
Not everyone is able to stop the flow of thoughts in their heads the first time. This is a process that requires training, constant effort. But if you put in some patience, it will get better every day. It is only important to find time for classes and not give up everything in the middle.
Easy ways to stop self-talk
When thoughts overwhelm, when it is difficult to cope with them, the song helps. You can choose a repertoire to your liking, but you need something that is entertaining and not annoying. It is worth singing out loud and loud. It is usually very difficult to perform a song and think about something else at the same time. This method was in great demand in Russia, because at different jobs people trained their vocal abilities so as not to think about problems.
Concentrating on counting helps a lot too. Start counting slowly to 100. It is important to say the numbers slowly, pausing between them. First you need to learn how to count to 20, when you can master it, start combining the technique with breathing: say a number (you can silently), then take a breath-out, and then the next number. It is important to start over every time if a thought appears in your head. You don't need to set yourself a goal to reach the maximum, the process is more important.
Imagine that your brain is a lake. Just draw an image of very calm water in your head. When a thought appears, it causes ripples on the surface. If the thought starts to develop, the waves increase. Observe how ideas come, how they disturb the peace, try to remove them in order to return to the original state again.
Meditations
Meditation techniques allow you to stop your internal dialogue. They usually include 3 stages. The first, relaxing, allows you to release tension from the body. The second helps to concentrate on something, often breathing is used, but this is not important. You can look at the horizon without looking at specific points, but simply looking at the general lines. There is an opportunity to watch a fire or a candle, the flowing water will also not be superfluous. In the process, thoughts come, but they are easy to track down and refuse further use. The third stage is the most difficult, it is the observation of what is happening. When thoughts are not bothering, you can learn to stay in the moment, and just watch what happens.
If you meditate regularly, you can enter a state of calm and thoughtlessness not only in the process of concentration. Being engaged in any business, it turns out to be in a state of observation, disconnection of internal dialogue. This is a complete presence in consciousness, fixing attention on what is happening, and not running away in thoughts somewhere else. This skill is available to everyone, but it takes months or years to achieve.
