Tricky questions can catch you off guard in very different situations. This can happen at an interview, and during an exam, and when communicating with partners, and in person. And so I want to always be on the alert and give decent answers! It turns out that there are several methods that ultimately help to form a rather witty and competent answer to tricky questions.

Step 1
Be sure to listen carefully to the end of the person. Try to pause and only then give an answer. This helps to buy seconds in order to focus and understand the essence of the issue. And it happens that the one who asks, himself and answers. However, you cannot drag out the pauses - three seconds is just enough. Otherwise, you may get the impression that the question has led you into a state of confusion.
Step 2
Describe the question. It is quite possible to say: "This is a very interesting question", "This is a rather urgent question" and similar phrases. In such a simple way, you can avoid a dispute by "luring" your opponent into allies.
Step 3
Try transforming the words to your advantage. For this, the phrase: "That is, if I understood correctly …" and similar expressions are suitable. In this way, you can quite tangibly reformulate an uncomfortable question.
Step 4
Sometimes a postponement is appropriate: try to tell your opponent that you will answer literally a minute before specifying certain details. If you can break a tricky question into parts, answer the one that is closest to you.
Step 5
Such a question does not always really require an answer. It happens that the interlocutor asks something quite rhetorically, in order to simply express the flow of his thoughts. Listen carefully - maybe there is no point in answering at all?
Step 6
Perhaps your opponent is asking a question that has nothing to do with you. So you don't need to try to invent a decent answer - it is best to say that he is addressing the wrong address.
Step 7
You need to answer, armed with your knowledge and available information. Speak confidently and answer clearly. At the very end, you can summarize the conversation by asking if his interest has been exhausted. Thus, the impression of you on the opponent will remain the most disingenuous. May just ask if you answered the question asked.
