The megalopolis syndrome exists in almost every person who lives in a big city. In some it is more pronounced, in others it is less, but to say that it does not exist at all means to deceive, first of all, oneself. Experts say that living in the same type of "boxes", which are most concentrated in sleeping areas, is very dangerous for a person's mental health.

The reasons for the development of the megalopolis syndrome
The reasons for the development of the megalopolis syndrome

Statistics show that more than 90% of the inhabitants of large cities live in them for only two or three generations. Their ancestors existed in completely different conditions, most often they lived on the land and ran their own household. The way of life of such people was radically different from that which exists now among their descendants. People got up early, spent a lot of time outdoors and were in constant motion.

Once electricity came to the countryside, everything changed. If earlier it was impossible to work at night, then with the light of a light bulb it became habitual and natural. Gradually, production and industry increased their power, cities began to grow, and man slowly began to turn into a social unit. Moving to a big city entailed a complete change in life. Aggression, depression, constant fatigue and a feeling of loneliness appeared.

Why does the megalopolis syndrome develop?

Experts say that chronic fatigue syndrome in the context of a metropolis syndrome arises from a huge amount of visual information that can cause not only positive, but also negative emotions. A lot of advertisements, inscriptions, signs, signs constantly attract the attention of a person, not giving him any opportunity to disconnect from this and relax. Buildings of the same type also do not add joy and violate the harmony of nature. All this has a negative effect on the psyche.

Even more pressure on the psyche is caused by constant sounds. Silence occurs only for a very short time and only in the middle of the night. But this does not always happen, if under the windows the car alarms are constantly triggered or a cheerful company is walking. Television, music, radio, computer, telephone - all these devices emit constant sounds, but even this is not the worst thing.

On television, programs are broadcast, where a stream of information literally pours out on a person, accompanied by sounds that are not always pleasant. The same applies to radio programs, listening to music, constant phone calls. To withstand this stream of sounds, a person must have a super stable psyche, and only a few can boast of this. With an emotional response to everything that a person hears on a daily basis, it is not surprising that more and more people are beginning to suffer from mental disorders.

People living in big cities have limited personal space. Statistics show that a person needs at least four times more of this space for normal living and health. Violation of personal boundaries provokes irritation, which gradually begins to accumulate and sooner or later comes out in the form of aggression. Only those people who can afford to stay for a long time in silence and loneliness, in a space where no one will violate their personal boundaries, will have a healthy psyche.

In megacities, people can be surrounded by a huge number of people, while being very lonely. To date, the usual "gatherings" in the kitchen with sincere conversations have practically disappeared. For this, modern people simply have neither the strength nor the time.

In addition, society successfully imposes stereotypes of behavior on people, to which one should strive. To become successful, rich, famous, significant, have time to make a career, get married and much more that is adjusted to certain standards. A person begins to spend all his strength and energy on what others want from him, and about what he himself wants, he soon forgets completely.

It might be worth pondering why so many people are starting to gradually move back to the countryside. Perhaps they have already fully experienced the syndrome of the metropolis and decided to change their lives.
