A person's love for self-knowledge is boundless. The better we know ourselves, the easier it is for us to live. And the easier it is for us to achieve life. But, unfortunately, we do not always think about ourselves as we really are.
Necessary
If you want to get to know your character better, you need a detached, independent analysis. And for this you need to go through studies that provide objective data about a person's personality
Instructions
Step 1
Forget about asking friends and acquaintances. Their opinion is evaluative, subjective, and does not always correspond to reality. First, non-professionals in personality diagnostics tend to attribute their characteristics to others. Secondly, we all gather around us people who are similar in character. This means that their projections, or ascribing their traits to you, will be monotonous. This can instill in you unnecessary fears or complexes.
Step 2
The first step is to make a list of questions for the researcher. The number of personality traits and characteristics is enormous, and each of them requires its own research methods. You don't want to spend a year or two testing, do you? Then you need to narrow down the list of questions by choosing the most relevant ones.
Step 3
The second step is to find a professional psychologist and contact him with a question about the diagnosis. Show him a list of specific questions you want to solve. The psychologist will help you choose the methods. These can be both tests and various drawing techniques.
Step 4
Get a professional interpretation of your results. There are electronic tests, which, in general, describe the essence of your character descriptions in a fairly understandable language. But it will be better if you analyze it with a specialist personally. Otherwise, you can get seriously scared when you see professional terms like "hysterical accentuation" or "schizotypal character". And it will be better if the psychologist explains to you in simpler terms what this means.
