The Internet has become a large part of modern life and has significantly expanded the possibilities of people: now we can watch films, read books, search for the necessary information, communicate with distant friends and relatives, plan trips … The advantages of the Internet can be listed for a long time, but we must not forget about the disadvantages: it is worth admit that virtual life has replaced real life for many people. And if you feel like one of these people, it's time to check out some tips.
1. Leave your phone in your bag when meeting with friends
Probably, in our time, meetings with friends who unsuccessfully try to talk to each other, but the conversation does not go well due to the fact that someone constantly checks their mail and social networks, are no longer a rarity. To a great extent, of course, unfortunately. If you find this behavior of a friend or girlfriend rude, then be the first to take your smartphone out of sight and use it only when needed or to answer an important call. Research shows that people who communicate face-to-face are twice as happy as those who spend too much time on the Internet. They also laugh a lot more, and laughter is a great way to deal with stress.
2. Turn off your phone and computer before going to bed
Do you always feel tired? Do you find it difficult to fall asleep? For many of us, the biggest obstacle to a quiet immersion in sleep is constantly checking mail, Twitter, Facebook, VKontakte … Doctors say that using a smartphone for an hour before bedtime can disrupt heart rhythms and also interfere with brain relaxation. Make a commitment to turn off your phone at least 1 hour before bed, and devote this time to something more relaxing, such as a warm bath or reading a book.
3. Turn on silent mode.
If during the day you are constantly distracted by notifications and messages, just put your phone on silent mode - this method works great when you still manage to concentrate, be it work or cooking lunch.
5. Talk to your partner
How often have you tried to talk to your soul mate while watching TV and were ignored? This behavior on both sides can hurt the relationship - so make sure you always have time to talk and make sure you listen to your partner with full attention.
4. Calculate how much time you spend on average on social networks
Do you constantly check for updates on social media? Recent studies have shown that a third of the Internet active population spends more than two hours a day on various social networks, 13 percent - more than three hours, and 4 percent were willing to admit that they have many more virtual friends than real ones. Tip: do not try to constantly keep abreast of online events and watch the news of your friend, but instead spend more time with your family and beloved friends, plan various events and meet live.
5. Take a break from your computer at work
Try to discuss matters with colleagues in person, do not be lazy to go downstairs to the accountant and certainly do not devote your break to reading Facebook or mail - go to the cafeteria, or even better (weather permitting) - for a short walk in the fresh air. Even small breaks of a few minutes every 1-2 hours can help you relax and resist stress.
