Rational is thinking leading to a goal and having a logical foundation. It must be developed, since it is the basis for effective interaction with the outside world, a way of perceiving events and circumstances.
Instructions
Step 1
When talking to someone, stick to simple communication rules that will help you develop your thinking. If you start a conversation with a statement, then make sure to stick to your own words throughout the conversation. This logical sequence will allow you to defend your opinion and learn not to contradict yourself. If you are sure of the correctness of your opinion or thought, then you must remember that it needs proof - assert only what you can prove indirectly or directly. Then you can explain it to the other person, keep your thinking clear, and be more convincing.
Step 2
Support any thought you have with evidence. Always ask yourself questions that can refute or confirm your claim. Try to select several arguments in defense of your thought at once - they should not contradict each other, they should have a strong evidence base and a logical connection with your initial statement.
Step 3
In the same way, you must act to refute the opinion of your opponent. If you have opposite views on the same things, then to defend your thoughts must make a convincing case. If you can prove a logical relationship, then argue in defense of your position and refute the interlocutor's false theory.
Step 4
Rational thinking involves turning off emotions - while solving any problem, you must remain cool and calm. If the situation requires you to be rational, don't include emotions - think logically.
Step 5
Train by arguing. Engaging in verbal skirmishes whenever possible is a great way to compete in rational thinking. First, identify the subject of the dispute and find out if you have the same understanding of it. Get involved in an argument, argue, record your opinion, and be consistent without deviating from the original statement.
Step 6
Rational thinking presupposes a positive outlook on the future, as negative thoughts paralyze brain activity. If you are stressed, isolate your negative thoughts and think about them rationally, soberly defining their rationality.
