Some of the goals that a person sets for himself in life are strategic and relate to life in general. Achievement of other goals is calculated for a very long period of time or for a specific period of it. And there are just certain tasks that you set for yourself and perform at one time. But no matter how difficult your goals and desires are, it is better if they do not remain pipe dreams and paper plans, but come true.
Instructions
Step 1
Try to only set goals for yourself that you really want to achieve. If they are formulated under the influence of certain emotions, momentary desires, nothing will work. After all, your mood can change, and the goal will remain unfulfilled.
Step 2
There can be many goals, but it is impossible to fulfill them all at once. Choose only the most important ones and remember that at the moment you can take on the implementation of only one of them. Others can be postponed for a year or two, and then returned to them again when the previous goal is achieved.
Step 3
If you realize that you really want something, and nothing will change your plans, write this goal on paper. Only it should be real, and not obviously unrealizable. If your goal is complex and long-term, try to break it down into its component parts and establish a realistic time frame for completing these tasks. For example, if your goal is to become an academic, then try to determine what steps you need to take in order to graduate and climb the career ladder. If you want to build your dream home, think about exactly what you will need for this. Make a realistic and detailed plan to achieve your goal. Be sure to also state the problems that are holding you back from achieving your goal.
Step 4
Refer to your goal and thus your notes every day. Evaluate what you have done in order to move even a small step forward. In the course of such analysis, refinements and improvements may appear that may make it easier and faster to achieve the goal.
Step 5
Keep in mind that the people around you may react differently to your aspirations. There are many who will meet your plans skeptically and even with derision. Don't let this confuse you. In this case, what matters is not what others think, but what you want. Don't expect approval from anyone, but be confident.
Step 6
By the way, if there are people who support your desires, this is very good, but do not make your goal dependent on them. Remember that you can achieve everything yourself.
Step 7
Tune in to overcome all difficulties and achieve the goal. Do not be afraid that something will not work out for you. Doubt just shouldn't be in your head. Only fear and doubt make it impossible to fulfill plans.
Step 8
Many psychologists advise people who want to achieve a particular goal to visualize it. By this, thoughts supposedly begin to materialize. Do you want to be in London or Paris? Put a book about these cities in front of you, read it more often and try to imagine in bright colors how you walk the streets of European capitals, communicate with people, shop in stores, etc. This will increase your motivation to achieve your goal.
