Temperament is one of the traits of a person's personality, which is expressed in the features of his behavior, a particular reaction to events, the dynamics of the course of various mental processes. There are four main types of temperament, which were classified by the ancient Greek physician Hippocrates. Later, the Russian scientist Pavlov summed up a scientific basis for this doctrine, having found out that temperament has a physiological basis - a combination of the basic properties of nervous processes. It is different for each person.

If you see that a person quickly converges with people, quite easily switches from one type of activity to another, is well mastered in an unfamiliar environment and does not like monotonous activity, most likely he is sanguine. Such people have expressive facial expressions and gestures, but at the same time they easily control their emotions. Sanguine people usually speak loudly and clearly, they are optimistic, but they quickly change their mood, moving from grief to joy, from fun to sadness. The owner of such a temperament can be very active and active, if they are interested. But as soon as a sanguine person begins to get bored because of the monotony of his activities, he feels lethargic, loses interest in the process.

Step 2

If a person whose temperament needs to be determined is very excitable and unbalanced, often irritated, acts swiftly, under the influence of an impulse, he is probably choleric. Those who have suffered difficulties by nature, but their strength can quickly dry up, since the supply of nervous energy is small. Then such a person experiences decline, becomes irritated, and enters into conflicts. Choleric people are usually hasty, talkative, sometimes overly harsh with others, overly straightforward and even rude.

If your "experimental" is slow and unhurried, at the same time most often calm, he is probably phlegmatic. Such people are usually balanced, in their activities they always show perseverance and thoughtfulness, bring what they started to the end. In phlegmatic people, all mental processes are slightly slowed down, so they are calm and cold-blooded, self-possessed, they do not clearly show their feelings, it is difficult to get them crazy. Sometimes (under unfavorable conditions), representatives of this temperament develop inertia and indifference to life, people, and oneself.

Step 4

If the person whose temperament you are diagnosing is deeply "in himself", is easily resentful, is very worried about troubles and does not like new acquaintances, crowded companies, a change of environment, this is most likely melancholic. Such people are easily vulnerable, suffer greatly even from minor grievances, although outwardly they usually do not show their appearance. Their mental processes are slow, but, unlike phlegmatic people, feelings are strong and deep. Melancholic people are prone to loneliness and isolation, but in a familiar environment they are able to perfectly cope with any tasks.
