Human fears are divided into two categories: healthy fears, which are inherent in all people without exception, and phobias, which acquire a pathological character, objectively interfering and even threatening human life. Recognize these fears in yourself and start fighting them now.
Instructions
Step 1
If your fear comes from childhood and is associated with mystical characters, then you first need to deal with them, as they leave a negative imprint on your entire adult life. You must realize that the fear of the dark or of ghosts has nothing to do with reality, it is just a figment of your imagination. It's like an inflating bubble with nothing inside. Understand that it is you who are inflating it and stop doing it.
Step 2
Repeat your name. This will help you return to reality, turn on analysis and feel confident in the space. Also, the name you repeat will take you back to childhood, when you were most often called by your name and when you were most protected.
Step 3
Do not close your eyes, but on the contrary - open them as wide as possible, look around, consider the objects that surround you, name them. You will see that this strange shadow in the corner is by no means a strange creature, but just a wooden cabinet.
Step 4
If you are afraid of some upcoming events, then most likely you are scaling them up. Afraid of losing a loved one, speaking at work, or failing an exam? Calmly consider if there are objective reasons to be afraid. Use paper, write down the reasons for fear. You will clearly see how small and funny they are.
Step 5
Since fear in the very beginning is not so bright forms, learn to stop in time. Literally tell yourself, "Okay, stop." It is the regular spinning of fear in your head, the search for its new sides that thickens the colors so much that you already begin to forget how you lived without this fear. Therefore, analyze the situation in time and stop thinking about it.
Step 6
Breathing technique helps to cope with fear, especially in difficult situations, for example, during natural disasters or in criminal situations. Take a deep breath and exhale slowly at least 10 times. This will help you calm down, gather your strength and thoughts.
Step 7
The method of bringing fear to the limit is quite difficult, but most often it helps to defeat all phobias. There are cases when people deliberately plunged into their fear and brought it to the point where they were mentally able to survive their own death. This technique is especially common in Zen teachings.
Step 8
If you are not confident in your abilities, turn to a good psychotherapist who will help you get rid of fear with the help of fear or put you into a state of hypnosis, which, even in the most difficult cases, helps to solve the problem of phobias.
