Many believe that it is necessary to always defend their views, insist on beliefs, regardless of whether they are correct or not. In general, always be a principled person. Is it so? And what is adherence to principles?
To talk about adherence to principles, you need to figure out what it is. This word is derived from the root "principle". It turns out that a principled person is one who acts on the basis of his principles, certain views.
The principle is the internal attitudes of a person, his reaction to the action of the external world. The way he acts in one way or another in different conditions. This action is always deliberate.
Until he is faced with certain circumstances in which it is necessary to make a decision that is at odds with his views, a person does not think about his principles. If he makes a decision that contradicts his inner world, he sacrifices his adherence to principles. Therefore, often a person violates general rules in order to preserve their principles. Sometimes this leads to completely opposite results. With such excessive firmness and intransigence, he can destroy relationships with others and close people. It is difficult for a principled person to change himself, to do what is best in this situation, to sacrifice his principles. He thinks that if he acts out of necessity in a certain situation, he will be accused of lack of principle. And for him it is very difficult to accept.
Integrity in such a person is associated with firmness of character. This constrains his actions, does not allow him to be flexible in making certain decisions. It is very difficult for such a person to be in harmony with others. After all, life is multifaceted. And it is not always possible and necessary to act only according to your internal rules. It is necessary to partially adapt to others, to listen to the desires of people close and dear to you.
Often the principles are laid down in childhood, as if imposed by their parents. Sometimes, already at a young age, a person adopts some fundamental views on certain issues from his friends and acquaintances. Often he cannot even explain why he is acting according to one principle or another. Therefore, it is very often worried about this.
And an unscrupulous person always acts according to the situation. Today, he can do what is more convenient and comfortable for him, so as not to quarrel with his superiors, not to go into conflicts with others. He is not burdened by principles. He, of course, can also have them, but he easily sacrifices them.
Each person decides for himself what to be. Maybe you shouldn't bend in front of everyone, but nevertheless, everyone should have a certain flexibility in making decisions.
