Modern life is very fast. People have learned to live much faster than before. Many believe that in order to achieve a certain success, you need to learn to accelerate, exist and work in a certain rhythm. Experts believe that modern society lives in a constant rush, and every year the speed of life increases.
In recent years, specialists working with psychological problems have been talking about the need for a person to slow down.
What is Slow Life
There is a movement in the world called Slow Life or "Slow Life". This movement originated in Italy in the last century. This happened when American fast food restaurants began to appear in the country, displacing not only national food, but also destroying the local food consumption culture.
According to Italians, food is not only a quick snack and instant satisfaction of hunger. But also a kind of ritual, when the whole family gathers at one table and has leisurely conversations about life.
The Slow Food movement was organized by journalist Carlo Petrini. Later, this movement grew into a larger one, called Slow Life ("Slow Life"). It has a number of basic principles:
- if you are not in a hurry, you will be in time for everything;
- always take a time-out before an important matter;
- during work, look at the clock as rarely as possible, and on weekends - forget about the clock;
- don't worry about anything;
- eat only local food;
- read, speak slowly, pondering every detail and every thought;
- take your time when doing any work;
- work should always be pleasing and inspiring, not exhausting;
- learn to enjoy the process, not the result;
- say no to anything that makes you stick to the fast life;
- communicate with people in real life, not by phone or computer;
- stay calm in any situation.
The Slow Food Association includes more than one hundred and fifty countries of the world. Today the organization advises European countries on industrial policy, agriculture, farming and fisheries.
Additional directions
Following the creation of the Slow Food Association and then the Slow Life Association, others began to emerge.
Slow Trevel. This organization includes fourteen countries. The main idea of Slow Tourism is that travelers stay in each city for a very long time and study very carefully the history, traditions and local cuisine. Tourists are in no hurry and are not limited in time.
Slow Education. Supporters of this idea adhere to the rules set out in the book by K. Honore. The author writes that children who were not rushed in performing any tasks, were not punished and motivated by encouragement, became more successful in life than children who are taught according to the standard scheme used in modern schools.
Honoré also draws attention to the fact that the majority of modern children have ceased to independently explore the world, to be interested in something new. They are used to quickly getting ready-made information from teachers and parents. If the volume of information that the child encounters he does not assimilate, he is labeled “lagging behind” not only in school, but also in development, which naturally affects his later life.
Slow Money. This organization brings together small investment companies willing to invest in the development of local crafts and the production of organic products.
Slow Business. This association brings together manufacturers of services and goods, the manufacture of which takes a long time and requires a careful, unhurried approach to business.
