Desires rule our lives. These are the motives of our works and actions, the sources of our dreams. To have a desire, or rather a dream, is useful, because it makes us live and move. But if this desire goes against moral and ethical foundations, or do you just feel that it is impossible to fulfill?
Instructions
Step 1
Suppressing desire is not quite the right decision and is often a generally unsuccessful way out of the situation. Do not try to get out of your head and forget what is eating you. It will still haunt you, presenting scenes of how your dream comes true, what benefits you get from it.
Step 2
Convince yourself with logical arguments and arguments, soberly assess the situation. Write in two columns what will be good and bad after the fulfillment of the desire and in the case of its non-fulfillment. Try to take into account as many negative aspects of the desire and merits of the previous state of affairs as possible.
Step 3
Assess your physical and material abilities. Most likely, your efforts and resources in the near future will be aimed at achieving completely different goals: renovation, birthday, apartment purchase, etc. To be led by a momentary whim is to abandon other plans.
Step 4
Summarize. Convince yourself that you do not need this desire to be fulfilled. It runs counter to your plans, prevents you from achieving other, more important goals, and will not bring real satisfaction after achieving it. focus on more important things.
