The ability to present yourself on the phone is the most important element of business communication, the absence of which causes communication difficulties in negotiations with business partners. Psychologists strongly recommend acquiring this skill, because the interlocutor draws a conclusion about the prestige of the company and the competence of its specialists in the first seconds of a telephone conversation.
Instructions
Step 1
The procedure for submission by phone is governed by the rules of etiquette and must be worked out almost to the point of automaticity. In business communication, it is customary to indicate your status. To do this, answering a phone call, you need to name your profession or position and the organization in which you work. Then you should introduce yourself as is customary in your campaign - by name and patronymic or by name and surname.
Step 2
Be extremely polite and correct. When communicating on the phone, both your posture and intonation are important. Stick to a not too fast pace. Rapid speech can make the wrong impression on the interlocutor, who decides that you are either nervous or unsure of yourself, or are hiding something. To understand how clearly you speak on the phone, record the conversation on a dictaphone and listen.
Step 3
When introducing yourself on the phone, try to speak in a lower voice than usual. This technique makes a good impression, makes you more serious and impressive. Speak louder, but don't raise your voice. It is bad if your interlocutor has to strain his hearing to hear you. Watch your breathing - puffing noisily into the tube is, to say the least, ugly. To breathe easily, straighten in your chair and keep your back straight.
Step 4
If you want to give your voice more confidence - speak on the phone while standing. In this way, you will feel superior, and this will affect the timbre of your voice. In addition, speech in a standing position is usually clearer, more intelligible and sonorous.
Step 5
After you introduced yourself, and your interlocutor introduced himself, try to refer to him by his first name and patronymic more often. This simple trick is always attractive.
Step 6
In the course of a conversation, adhere to the general rules of telephone conversations: express thoughts clearly, concisely, accurately and politely. If you call, then prepare in advance for the conversation. If you answer a call, listen carefully and ask again all the incomprehensible moments - this way you will save time for yourself and the interlocutor.
