There are many more people who are poisoned by complexes than it seems at first glance. Not too demanding of their partner, place of work and income, they are content with the role of gray mice. And few people realize that behind this notorious image a bright, interesting personality can be hidden.
Instructions
Step 1
Analyze where your complexes came from. This can be done both independently and with the help of a psychotherapist. Perhaps you have them because of the fact that you were teased by classmates, or because of your parents who are always dissatisfied with your achievements. Think about why these people at one time treated you this way. For example, classmates might tease you for having plump lips, and your mother, who had to leave dancing classes as a child, tried to fulfill her dream with your help and scolded you cruelly for every failure.
Step 2
Think about whether their accusations are justified for you at the moment, when your plump lips have become sexy and are the subject of your pride, and you are a welcome guest at any disco.
Step 3
List your talents, skills, and positive qualities on a piece of paper. Ask your loved ones to complement it.
Step 4
Try not to communicate with people who constantly criticize and find fault with you. If this is a relative, reduce communication with him to a minimum. If your boss finds fault with you, consider changing jobs.
Step 5
Taking a higher place in society will help you raise your self-esteem. You may need to find a new job or ask for a promotion to do this - feel free to do so.
Step 6
Never start a relationship with someone you don't like. The phrase “no one else will covet me anyway” should disappear from your vocabulary forever. What's more, your self-esteem will grow as you let go of the relationship you built on this principle.
Step 7
If you feel like you can't do anything, acquire skills and abilities that will allow you to increase your self-esteem. Sign up for a cooking class, skydive, learn to give first aid to people. This will help you start to respect yourself and get over the complexes.
