When working with a group, it is important to activate the activities of the participants, as well as their acquaintance and rallying. In order to achieve the required pace of work, psycho-gymnastic exercises can be used in group activities.
Each of the psycho-gymnastic exercises can be divided into verbal and non-verbal. The first category includes exercises using speech. Group members refer to each other or to a non-existent subject. Non-verbal exercises are designed to express thoughts, emotions, and behavior without the use of words. You can use facial expressions, gestures, body movements.
Each exercise is perfect for an introductory session to training groups. Tasks include not only an element of activating activities, but also team building, acquaintance.
Let's take an example of both types of exercises. Exercise "Place" is verbal and is aimed more at activating the communicative resources of the team. The bottom line is that the group members should take turns talking to the person sitting in a certain place so that the person gives up this place to another. The variability of the exercise is appreciated.
An example of a non-verbal exercise would be the Concept Walking activity. The presenter reads out various remarks (the wind is blowing, you are going to the first lesson at school, there is a dog in front of you that you need to jump over, etc.). Participants should walk in a circle and imitate walking, in accordance with the emotional coloring of the words of the leader. This exercise also activates the work of the team and adjusts it to the desired pace of work.
