Step 1
Remember that the soul is influenced by the information it receives. In this case, there are two channels for receiving information. The first is ordinary perception through sight, hearing, etc. And the second channel is the so-called extrasensory perception. Regardless of the channel through which the information came, it can be either true or false. The process of separating truth from falsehood is the most difficult and important moment for the soul.

You can perfect your soul by painting, listening to beautiful music, reading or writing poetry, etc. etc. All this is also a touch of truth - nevertheless, the most important thing for the perfection of the soul is precisely the ability to distinguish truth from falsehood.
Step 3
Consider that the soul, absorbing false information, becomes darker, darker, moves away from God. And vice versa, the more truth is in it, the closer it is to the Creator. How does this manifest itself in practice? Have you heard, for example, some hard-hitting story about someone you know. What will be your action? Will you believe this story, will you gladly retell it to others, or will you immediately reject it?
Step 4
It is very important to immediately recognize and reject a lie, without giving it the slightest chance to gain a foothold in consciousness. Make it a rule to discard any rumors, gossip, etc. - in fact, you do not have accurate information. Never retell what you do not know about, do not spread lies. Do not savor the details of various dubious stories - all this is dirt that harms your soul in the most direct way.

Do not forget that a fairly large part of the information comes to a person through extrasensory perception - that is, directly into his consciousness. Thought is material, so it may well be transmitted over a distance. Every day a person accepts a large number of such thoughts, which he perceives as his own. Moreover, they can be both true and false. False thoughts must be discarded immediately.
Step 6
The most powerful tool against lying is prayer. Ask God to support, guide you on the right path, help you learn to distinguish truth from falsehood. The result is visible after a few days - a person's spiritual vision becomes clearer, he begins to see his delusions.

Read the books of the holy fathers. For example, Ignatiy Bryanchaninov, in his book "Ascetic Experiments" (in two volumes), described in great detail the ways in which a lie damages a person's soul, and ways of dealing with false thoughts. Such books as "My Life in Christ" by John of Kronstadt and "Ascetic Words" by Isaac the Syrian will also be very useful. You can find other useful spiritual literature, the list is very wide.

As you learn to see the lie in yourself, you will gradually begin to see it very clearly in other people as well. At the same time, it is important not to be proud of your successes, to understand that there is no personal merit in this and the struggle for the purity of the soul will have to be waged until the last moments of life.
