An independent person, as a rule, gets much more pleasure from life than the one for whom others make decisions. He is the creator of his destiny, he chooses where to live and work, with whom to build relationships and where to go to rest. At the same time, it is never too late to become independent.
Instructions
Step 1
Strive to take responsibility. Especially if you haven't done this before. Do not shy away from simple tasks - for example, reserve the honorable duty of feeding the cat, but do not be alarmed when you are offered to do something large-scale - to take on a large project, take a higher position. Once you see that you have successfully coped with the responsibilities that have befallen you, your fear of responsibility will decrease significantly.
Step 2
Write on a piece of paper the activities that you did not do before, but then learned, and also write in a separate column what you would like to master. For example, before you did not know how to pay utility bills, but for several months in a row you have successfully coped with this task, and now you would like to learn how to place orders in foreign online stores and pay with a card. The more things you have successfully mastered, the more confident you will feel.
Step 3
Be able to justify any decision you make. You went to work in a company because you got a salary, and your boss seemed like a kind and non-conflict person, you bought this model of a multicooker because it has all the modes you were looking for, you ordered a chocolate cake because you love chocolate. The fewer unconscious actions in your life, when you yourself cannot say why you did this, the easier it will be for you.
Step 4
Master new knowledge. An independent person is versed in many areas and strives to become even smarter and more versatile. Feel free to sign up for cooking and accounting courses, master oriental dances and website development. Find suitable schools, earn money to attend classes, and then put your knowledge into practice.
Step 5
An independent person is strong and generous. If before you needed someone's help, now you can provide it to others. Tell the way to a strayed passer-by, help the old woman carry the bags to the apartment, get the ball rolling for the children. You can also become a volunteer: help orphanages, abandoned animals, collect things that you do not use, and give them to poor people.
Step 6
Don't be embarrassed by failure and record your successes. Reward yourself by pampering yourself with a chocolate bar or a spa trip. After all, you are an adult and independent person, you achieve your goals and can afford to relax periodically.
