Manipulators are dexterous psychologists, they notice human weaknesses and skillfully use them to control others. The strength of the manipulator lies in the fact that many do not notice this control or cannot resist it. However, each person is able to resist manipulation.

Instructions

Step 1

Find the manipulator in time. Such a person is good at making others do what he needs. At the same time, you may not even notice that you are being manipulated. The arsenal of tools is huge: flattery, threats, playing on feelings of guilt, decreasing importance, etc. If, while communicating with a person, you constantly experience stress or feel guilty, you are in front of a manipulator.

Step 2

Consider why the manipulator needs you. Do not pay any attention to his words: he says what you want to hear. Instead, analyze your actions and his reactions. What did you do that caused the negative, and what did the manipulator like? By making two lists, you will understand where he is directing you.

Step 3

Calculate which buttons the manipulator presses to control you. These are your weak points, and you need to learn how to protect them. For example, when communicating with someone who is used to caring for others, the manipulator can accuse him of callousness and coldness.

Step 4

Stop making exceptions. The manipulator probably has a couple of excuses in store for why he is allowed to behave this way. It can be a difficult childhood, a recent breakup with a lover, a psychological trauma, stress at work, and anything else. If you are subject to manipulation, do not associate with those who often play the victim.

Step 5

Set new boundaries. Do not accept gifts, money, or help from the manipulator. For him, this is just an excuse to get you to do what he wants. Reduce meetings as much as possible, do not communicate in private. Question the words of the manipulator. Don't agree with him just because you don't feel like arguing.

Step 6

Be prepared to defend your new line of behavior. No manipulator will surrender without a fight. Prepare to listen to accusations of selfishness and cruelty. He will tell you and your loved ones how you hurt him when you pushed him away. Arm yourself with patience and calmness. If you are to blame for anything, it is only that you once allowed the manipulator to gain confidence. Do not get involved in arguments, keep silent, and over time, his energy will run out.

Step 7

Pay attention to how the manipulator will react when he realizes that he has lost. It happens that people realize that they have behaved incorrectly. Don't be afraid to give the person a second chance.
