The fear of death is inherent in every person living on earth, some more, and some less. Starting from the age of four or five, when a child first realizes what death is and ending with extreme old age, a person has to fight his fear. Some cope with this by turning to religion, some study philosophical works, and some use psychological techniques.

The human psyche is able to fight the fear of death itself. This can be seen in the example of how young children deal with this fear when they have recently learned that they will someday die. For example, looking at how mom and dad take care of them, children believe in a savior who will have time to save them from death at the very last moment. As a savior, both the relative who enjoys the child's greatest love and authority, and the superman from the cartoon can act.
Step 2
An adult can get rid of the fear of death in the same way - to believe in a savior. Unlike children, adults on their deathbed will be saved by God, delivering them from torment. If you adhere to a religion that promises eternal life full of pleasant moments, the fear of death does not threaten you. After all, death for you will only be a transition to a more pleasant pastime.
Step 3
Another psychological mechanism that allows an adult to cope with the fear of death is the conviction of his own uniqueness. This does not need to be learned, such a conviction is originally inherent in every person, no matter how sane he may seem. Deep down, a person is convinced that despite the fact that other people die, it will never touch him.
Step 4
To get rid of the fear of death, read the works of philosophers. Almost each of them, in one way or another, touched upon the topic of the futility of being. Cicero said: "The point of pursuing philosophy is preparation for death." Perhaps the thoughts of the wisest people of all times and peoples will help you come to terms with death.
Step 5
Increase your fear of death specifically. Drive yourself to panic, imagine your death in the most terrible details. Cry. After that, you will become less afraid of death, because you have already "died" once and nothing terrible has happened.
Step 6
One of the most powerful ways to overcome your fears is to laugh at them. Remember children's jokes about death, imagine it in a ridiculous way (for example, an old woman who lost her braid). After that, death will no longer seem to you such a formidable and powerful enemy.
