Crime, alas, is as old as the human race. It is no coincidence that the documents of the ancient era that have come down to people mention punishment for this or that offense. These punishments were often very harsh. Nevertheless, crimes have been and are being committed to this day. For what reason?
This is a very difficult question, which cannot be answered unequivocally. It is well known, for example, that during the period of "social cataclysms" - painful reforms, revolutions, wars, there is a sharp increase in crime. What is the reason? Most likely, "ferment in the minds", mass discontent, which takes the form of a furious, senseless protest. Or, for example, if people are persistently told that the main goal in life is material well-being, and no matter what the cost is achieved; that the one who did not succeed is a worthless person, a loser, a “loser”, then this can push morally immature, unstable individuals to a crime. It seems to them that it is so easy, tempting - to break the law and get rich! Of course, they can be caught and "imprisoned", but those who do not take risks "do not drink champagne." For such people, the temptation increases many times over if they see that the words of government officials are at odds with their deeds; that those who are called to guard the law are themselves breaking it. They tell themselves: "If they can, why can't we?" And such concepts as "honor" and "conscience" seem to them to be a distant abstraction. Of course, the family plays a huge role in the formation of personality. What can contribute to the child becoming a criminal in the future? This is, first of all, excessive indulgence of his desires and whims on the part of the parents, the inconsistency of their requirements for the child, the unhealthy environment in the family (asocial behavior of one or both parents, quarrels, scandals, up to and including assault). In the overwhelming majority of cases, such a child comes to school, not ready for hard work or self-discipline, which leads to poor performance. Accordingly, either there are constant conflicts between his parents and teachers who are not able to teach the child, or conflicts between the child himself and his parents, who require him to study well and punish him for poor grades. And the baby either finally gets used to indulgence, permissiveness, or becomes embittered by the whole world in the face of his own parents. So is it any wonder that he may soon fall under the influence of a bad company and become on a criminal path? It also happens that a person commits a crime under the influence of an illness that caused a disorder of nervous activity. This can be, for example, an infectious disease that led to brain damage, psychosis, confusion, etc.
