Anyone would like to easily recognize lies in the speech of the interlocutor. In different situations, a person is characterized by certain behavior and gestures. Some of them testify to the authenticity of what was said, while others - about a lie.
To be able to lie without showing your anxiety and anxiety is also an art that only a few people possess. By lying, people experience discomfort and anxiety that are incredibly difficult to hide. Therefore, it is quite possible to understand when a person is lying, you just need to remember some of the signs of a lie.
The first sign. Speech
Often liars give out speech, it is one of the places of their "punctures". It is not so difficult to catch a person who is not very good at speaking in a lie.
- By lying, people try to provide additional and unnecessary facts and information that does not fit very well with the topic of the conversation or does not play almost any role in it.
- An evasive answer to the question posed indicates a lie. So, the answer “You know I never did that” place “No, I didn't say anything” to the question: “Did you tell him my secret?” Is most likely not true.
- Very often in their answer, liars repeat the text of the question itself (“Do you know this woman? - No, I don’t know this woman”) or use the same pre-thought phrases.
- If a person laughs it off, he is lying.
- When lying, the tempo of a person's speech is disturbed. In other words, in some places his speech is fast, the person seeks to say the excuse that has come to mind, and when trying to come up with something new, speech slows down, becomes incoherent and confused.
The second symptom. "Language of the body"
A lying person always subconsciously expects the earliest end of the conversation. To pass the time, he seeks to occupy himself with something. For example, he shifts from foot to foot, touches his neck, strokes his hand (a gesture of self-complacency), jerks his shoulder.
The third sign. Emotions
Both indifference and violent emotions can indicate a lie.
In the first case, indifference to some fact that is communicated to a person is implied. This is explained by the fact that he already knows the fact. "Surprise" appears later, after a few seconds - realizing, the person tries to hide his awareness and show that he is actually shocked.
For violent emotions, liars try to hide their true feelings.
The fourth sign. Sight
During a lie, a person is more betrayed by his eyes. You can learn to control speech, emotions, or hands, but controlling your gaze is almost impossible. Many liars come across just at the sight.
"Look in my eyes!" - so people say when they want to hear true explanations. Hence the stereotype that a person who looks into the eyes of an interlocutor always speaks the truth.
In fact, this is not at all the case. In most cases, a person looks into the eyes of the interlocutor when he tries to understand whether they believe him or not. Very often people look away when they try to remember some more genuine information - this does not mean that they are lying.
Subconsciously, a person believes that a direct look will make him more convincing in the eyes of the interlocutor.
