Now it has become fashionable for a woman and a man to live without officially registering a relationship. It would seem that in such a union there are all the signs of marriage. A man and a woman live together, run a joint household and often raise children together. There can be mutual love between them. Partners, especially women, may consider such a relationship to be a complete marriage. There was even such a term "civil relations".
However, from the point of view of legislation, a civil marriage is a matrimonial relationship registered with the authorities. All other forms of cohabitation are cohabitation.
The reasons why partners do not want to officially register a relationship can be very different. For example, such a reason may be unwillingness to take on certain obligations or fear of property disputes in the event of a divorce.
The initiative to live together without registering relations with the registry office, as a rule, comes from a man. A woman, on the contrary, refers to living together, even without formalizing the relationship, seriously and sincerely considers herself a wife. However, this is just self-deception, although such a relationship can last for years. The continuation of the relationship without their formalization is possible as much as it will be beneficial to the man.
In the public consciousness, and even as a partner, she will still be perceived as a cohabitant who has no rights and with whom you can part at any time. Living without official registration of marital relations, it should be remembered that in the event of the death of a partner, the other party cannot inherit his property. The prospect in her declining years to be at a broken trough should stop a woman from such a relationship.
