For a long time, people have often thought about the "language of color". It was believed that each color has a special character, affects the human subconscious in different ways, evokes certain emotions and reactions. The color that most often appears in front of a person's eyes can affect his behavior in any situations, push him to choose one or another solution.
Red color has long been associated with passion, war, bloodshed. Many revolutions took place under red banners. Some African tribes wore an intimidating red "camouflage" on their faces and bodies before going into battle. Also, red symbolizes greatness and power. For example, emperors wore purple robes and sat on a red throne.
Black color is used in mourning rituals, symbolizes emptiness, death, misfortune. Black eyes are still considered dangerous, ominous, capable of jinxing an unwanted person. However, in some dry regions of Africa, black is perceived quite the opposite, because dark clouds bring long-awaited rains and coolness.
White is associated with light and symbolizes kindness, purity, innocence. The righteous, saints, angels, priests of some nations are clothed in white. However, it is still an apathetic and unemotional color that absorbs everyone else and is associated with icy emptiness, death. The Slavs covered the dead with a white shroud.
Yellow is the color of the sun, frozen gold. This is the autumn color of fallen leaves, it cheers up, carries a charge of happiness and joy. But it is also the color of illness, powerlessness. For example, it is worth remembering the meaning of the phrase "yellow house". For some Asian peoples, yellow means plague, quarantine.
Blue is a noble color. It is generally accepted that real nobles and princes have "blue blood". Blue is a symbol of the sky, infinity, evokes melancholy, a dreamy mood. It can mean devotion and loyalty, chastity and kindness. The French associate blue with fear, and the Slavs gave it dark associations with demons and sadness.
Green means new life, youth, it is the color of fresh grass and leaves. It has a calming effect. For example, to relax tired eyes, it is advised to look at something painted in a calm green color.
Currently, the ability of color to act on human consciousness is actively used in business, advertising and medicine.
