Man himself is the smith of his own happiness and, as Erich Fromm wrote: "Happiness is a state of intense inner work and a feeling of an increase in vital energy, which occurs with a productive attitude towards the world and towards ourselves." At the same time, everyone has their own understanding of happiness, but there are some common things that prevent us from being happy.

1. Inactivity. Remember the anecdote about a Jew who fervently prayed to God and asked him to win a million in the lottery, and when the angels asked God: “Well, what do you feel sorry for? May he win! God replied that he himself would be happy to contribute to the win, but a Jew should at least buy a lottery ticket. In order to get what you want, move towards what you want, do something every day that brings you closer to your goal.

2. Lack of strategic thinking. Often, our momentary desires prevent us from achieving success in the future, for example, if you count the amount of money spent on bad habits for the entire time, then this amount may be enough for a car. Prioritize and don't let unnecessary temptations destroy your really meaningful goals.

3. Avoiding responsibility. We can often hear from some people that their life is not so - a bad husband, stupid children, stupid work … The expectation that someone else can make us happy leads to the fact that it is them that we blame for our failures. But few people ask themselves the question: why did I choose such a husband (wife), why I could not teach my children wisdom, why can't I change jobs? Maybe because nobody else needs me like that, and I don't want to change? Don't blame others for your problems. Ask yourself: "What can I do to improve the situation"? Rely only on yourself.

4. Whining. We spend energy trying to find support that justifies our inaction, rather than spending the same energy looking for productive options.

5. Lack of self-love. Think, if you really loved yourself, would you allow yourself to constantly depend on bad habits, lack of knowledge, other people, finances, etc.? Love yourself, take care of yourself and give yourself the life you really deserve!

6. Self-doubt, shyness. A shy person is afraid of condemnation of others, which means that he considers them to be bad people - capable of ridicule (or what he is still afraid of) - and this is already a delusion. Such people consider themselves to be good, but prefer not to do anything, so as not to suddenly make a mistake and not admit that they are bad. They do not want to be wrong, although only God is not wrong. Fear of error fetters and the person becomes insecure in himself and his actions. If you are not sure about something - learn, practice, ask, but do not give up your goals and believe in yourself.

7. Envy. We only envy what we think we deserve. We do not envy fish that may not breathe for a long time under water, but we envy a neighbor who bought a new car. If you are jealous, you feel that you are worthy of it. All that remains is to find a way to achieve what you want, for example, ask your neighbor how he did it.

In the pursuit of happiness, remember A. Maslow's warning: "If you intend to become a less significant person than your abilities allow, you will be a deeply unhappy person!"
