Step 1
Pay attention to the look. The first thing that can give out a liar is the eyes. He, as a rule, hides them from the interlocutor, for fear of betraying deception. The person who is deceiving you can close his eyes, blink. True, it is worth considering that for an experienced liar this is not an obstacle, he is in control of himself enough to "drill" you with a glance.
Step 2
The liar will try to change the subject. Some deceivers do it so masterfully that you will not even notice his trick. It is necessary to follow the course of the conversation as a whole and, when changing the topic, try to catch your opponent in a lie, persistently returning to the topic that he is trying to ignore.
Step 3
An abundance of emotions is a sign of a lie. Your interlocutor is likely lying if he expresses anger, joy, defenses too zealously, or tries to appear naive simpleton. Conclusion: excessive passionarity indicates that the matter is unclean.
Step 4
Watch your gestures. There are non-verbal signs of deception (this theme formed the basis of the popular Hollywood TV series The Theory of Lies, starring Tim Roth). Liars often try to suppress their emotions by hiding it behind gestures. If your interlocutor hides his hands in his pockets or behind his back, touches parts of his face (chin, ears, nose), he’s probably lying.

Look for contradictions. A reliable way: look for contradictions and logical "inconsistencies", which, as a rule, abound in a liar's story. Others, in a fit of lies, can give out something like that, which is completely contrary to common sense.
Step 6
The deceivers "hide behind" objects. As a barrier between themselves and the interlocutor, liars actively use things. Take a closer look to see if your opponent is twirling a fountain pen or lighter in his hands, or if he is trying to shield himself from you with a monitor screen.
Step 7
The liar overloads with information. If a person, telling you something, supplies his speech with an abundance of small details, then you should be skeptical about this. Perhaps your interlocutor is just a very observant person, and in his life plans - writing a novel like "War and Peace", but in most cases this is a sure sign that they are trying to hide the truth from you.
Step 8
Listen to the voice. Psychologists have noticed that during a lie, even the timbre of a person's voice changes. If you know your opponent well, you can use the intonation and the clarity of the pronunciation of words to calculate whether he is telling the truth or lying.
