Step 1
Watch your thoughts. They are the ones who distract you in the present moment. You don't have to fight against the stream of your own consciousness. It is enough just to fix the thought, and it will already lose its power over your mind. Do not allow the state when one idea is interrupted by another, and as a result, the whole consciousness turns into a disorderly tangle of thoughts. Unraveling it and focusing on the present moment will be very difficult later. Learn to think slowly and consistently. Then this process will go unnoticed, in parallel, without interfering with your perception.
Step 2
Find the important in the small. You already have everything you need for life. You need to learn to appreciate simple everyday pleasures, such as delicious food, convenience and comfort, an interesting book or movie, favorite music, communication with animals, walks in nature. Once you understand the beauty of such pleasures, you will become closer to appreciating the present moment and noticing all its beauty.
Step 3
Give completely to the process you are currently doing. Do not try to have time to complete several things at the same time. Concentrate well on reading, watching a movie, cleaning, working, or washing dishes. At first glance, the simple actions you do every day do not require all of your attention. But, on the other hand, it is immersion in the process that will bring you pleasure from this or that activity.
Step 4
Realize that you are only living in the present. There is no past. You cannot go back to yesterday and change it. It is impossible to correct any actions that have taken place in the past. Hence, it makes no sense to dive into thoughts about the past for a long time. The future is also ephemeral. This does not mean that you do not need to think about what will happen tomorrow. It's just that some worries and worries about the coming day are in vain. The only thing that really matters and meaning is today. Live knowing this. Treat each day as a gift and do not poison your existence with either worry about the future or regret about the past.

Change your attitude towards problems. If you tend to worry over even the smallest thing, it will be difficult for you to learn to live one day. It's important to let go of the situation you can't change and stop harassing yourself in vain. Instead, pay attention to the beauty of the world around you and focus on the interesting things that are in it.
