There is power in politics, economics and culture. But the ability to dominate oneself is very important. You must be able to control your emotions and look at yourself from the outside.
It is necessary
- - a pen;
- - paper.
Instructions
Step 1
Don't try to suppress or hide your emotions. This can only be a temporary solution to the control problem. Over time, these emotions will "blow up" you from the inside, and most often this happens at the most inopportune moment. Emotions need to be curbed, not hidden and pretending that everything is fine.
Step 2
Before you go to bed, write down a list of the emotions you have experienced throughout the day. It is best to immediately divide it into two columns: write down positive emotions in one, and include negative ones in the other. After the list is complete, analyze which emotions are more frequent. If positive, then you are on the right track. If negative, then pay attention to which of them you are constantly experiencing.
Step 3
Determine the emotional background that occurs in neutral situations. When something annoys or makes you happy, certain emotions appear, but if nothing happens, this does not mean that you are not experiencing anything. This is what you need to figure out: what drives you at rest.
Step 4
Identify the factors that throw you off balance most quickly. It is with them that you will have to fight in the future in order to learn to dominate yourself. Observe the situations in which you quickly get “turned on”, what annoys you. As soon as you find yourself in a similar situation, be alert, do not let emotions overwhelm you.
Step 5
Take a few breaths if you feel that an emotional wave is about to cover you. Inhale slowly and deeply, and then exhale quickly and sharply. Repeat this exercise several times.
Step 6
Learn to "quit the game" periodically. To abstract from the communication situation. Go deep into yourself for a second and look at what is happening from the side. This will allow you to more objectively assess the environment and emotions you are experiencing.
